Why visit Theth

Theth is the starting point for Albania's most famous hike, the crossing to Valbona. The village itself has a photogenic church, a blood-feud tower and a dramatic blue eye spring. Guesthouse culture makes it easy to stay overnight.

Theth sits at the end of a winding road in the Albanian Alps. The hike to Valbona over the Qafa e Tërthores pass is one of the best day walks in the Balkans. Closer to the village, the Grunas Waterfall and Blue Eye of Theth reward shorter walks. Staying in a family guesthouse is part of the experience.
